Happy New Year!
2011 was so much fun! So many shows and then finishing off the year by playing the beautiful Fox Theater in Detroit with our annual Karen Newman Christmas show. Also last year, I got to sing with good friend and talented music artist, Stewart Francke opening up for Bob Seger on his first show kicking off his spring tour. What a blast that was! And then we got to do it again.This time in front of 20,000 screaming fans....HELLO CLEVELAND! And if THAT wasn't cool enough, we got to open at DTE for Earth, Wind, and Fire! WOW! It's also Detroit Music Awards time again. Last year I was nominated in two categories. I didn't bring home the gold, but it was a real honor to be nominated with so much amazing talent coming out of Detroit these days. The GIA WARNER BAND was out there rockin' it for our summer concerts. Great weather and great crowds made last year an amazing summer. I am so excited to say I am back in the studio cutting tracks for CD number three. I can't wait for you to hear. I'll be releasing the first single very soon. It will be a limited release only at gigs and through the website. I'll be posting pix from the DMA's, Bob Seger, and the studio soon! Don't forget, my last disc "GIA LIVE" is now available on i-tunes and at giawarner.com. I recorded this disc a couple of years back at the "Music in the Air" Festival. This summer is gonna be busy with me making return visits to my favorite cities and adding a bunch more shows.
